In a post published on Instagram, the 23-time Slam champion revealed how she was given a spa stay as a gift during her latest trip to Paris. Serena explained how it is important to take care of yourself every now and then, although she feels guilty when she has to leave her children.

"On my last trip to Paris, a girlfriend of mine treated me to a spa day. She knows that after two babies I started feeling my belly. I just had to post this video she shot. The results were amazing. I can see progress with my skin getting back to normal and my confidence returning. Listen, my body will never be the same, but neither will I because I have 2 amazing lights in my life Being able to take time for myself is something for which I've always struggled with. I've finally started to feel good about taking an hour (during nap time) away from my kids and working on doing something for myself. I always feel guilty about leaving them, but I also have to remind myself to take care of myself, it will only help me take better care of them,” she wrote in the Instagram post.

Serena, in an interview with ET, explained that she has always lived in the spotlight and that she is only now trying to understand who is truly far from the court.

"I was so intense on the court, I always wanted to be perfect, which obviously isn't possible. If I could go back, I would tell myself to breathe deeply and relax more. I think it would have helped me a lot. The journey has been incredible, but I was really very young when I started playing tennis on the WTA Tour and became a professional player. I don't know if this precociousness changed me or shaped me as a person.

Now I'm trying to figure out who I really am away from the cameras. I have been in the spotlight 24/7 for 27 years. It's different now, but the time has come to understand how all this has affected me. Most people only see the victories in a Grand Slam tournament, the finals, but they don't focus on the training and everything behind it. All that intensity I've always put forth is now directed at my daughters," she explained.
