Serena Williams: 'There is no better feeling than winning in Melbourne'- View: 2205 by Gatto Luigi
In an interview with the Australian Open YouTube Channel, Serena Williams commented on her special feelings towards the tournament she has won seven times. The last success in January 2017 against her sister Venus, was probably the most special as she was eight weeks pregnant with her daughter Alexis Olympia.
Winning titles is exciting for the 23-time Grand Slam champion, who said: 'I've been no. 1 for so long, so many times, and I have done things that are amazing. Sometimes that ranking really means a lot, but sometimes I also feel like winning events and just being able to compete means just as much. 'Tennis is a sport I absolutely love, it's my life.
For the rest of my life, whether I am playing or not playing, it's definitely something that has made an incredible impact on my life.' Next year she will aim to equal Margaret Court's 24 Grand Slam all time record.
'You have been chasing it for a really long time, it feels like really a long time, and when I had the opportunity to get there, and I am here, and it's an amazing feeling and no better place to do it.' ALSO READ: Serena Williams set to play 2018 Australian Open, says tournament director .
