Serena Williams will break Margaret Court's Majors record, says Graf

The 22-time Grand Slam winner Steffi Graf believes that Serena Williams, who holds 23 Major titles, will probably soon overcome Margaret Court, who has 24. Speaking during the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai, Graf said: 'She's shown over and over, it's incredible what she can achieve.

There's nothing, I feel, that says that she can't. She's got an incredible determination. She's got a strong will and she's got incredible game and talent.' About she getting closer to achieve the "Golden" Slam in 1988, Graf said: 'Those are great memories and treasured times.

I rarely look back, but when I do, it's moments that for sure are going to be with me all my life. But I'm not one to worry too much about records -- I never have done. I've been really fortunate to have had the career that I had, and to give it all, and to retire and start my next chapter of life.

I feel it's not something that has that kind of priority or importance any more in my life. I'm not too worried if my record stands for a long time or not.' Serena will open her 2019 season at the Hopman Cup in Perth, and just in Melbourne, she will have once again the chance to equal Court's record after losing this year's Wimbledon and US Open finals.
