Serena Williams is currently enjoying a break from the WTA Tour - she played her last match at the US Open and will be back to compete in late December at the Hopman Cup - but the American player keeps being active off court and on Wednesday night she was given the Adweek's Brand Visionary award by her friend Anna Wintour, who is also a close friend of Roger Federer at the Brand Genius Awards in New York.
Serena got this prize not only because of her tennis achievements but also because of her clothing line Serena, her stake in the Miami Dolphins and much more. 'One thing that I truly believe in is that success does not define a person', said the 37-year-old.
'A lot of the people who truly inspire me are not about those who are wildly successful, but those who are wildly successful after they fail and they get back to being super successful again, and that for me is what fuels a successful brand and a successful person.'
