Andy Murray was satisfied with his mixed doubles match first round with Serena Williams. The British player said: "I think towards the end of the match, like, when you're kind of in control on the scoreboard, it's easier to sort of relax and enjoy it, whereas the first set, we were obviously taking it seriously to win.
We had a bunch of chances, didn't get them, [but] thankfully got the 5-4 game. For me, it was a great experience being back on Centre Court with Serena after the last year or so being tough. It was nice. I enjoyed it."
"Maybe we weren't as clinical as maybe we'd like to be. Again, that comes with matches a little bit. As Serena said, neither of us have played much recently, but that will come." ù Venus Williams also opened her run in mixed on a good note with her compatriot Frances Tiafoe.
In a press conference, she said: "I love doubles. And if I could play doubles every tournament, I would. This is just another opportunity I get to do something I love. We're having a great partnership so far." Tiafoe added: "Happy to get a win with Venus. I did not want to go down today. We played well, and hopefully, we can keep going."
