In a press conference on Tuesday following her win over Alison Riske in Wimbledon, Serena Williams commented on her $10,000 fine for damaging a practice court in the All England Club. The American player said: “I haven’t really thought about it, to be honest.
I was just focused on my match today. I just threw my racquet. I got fined. I guess if you could tell me (what cost $10,000), I would appreciate it' I mean, I have always been an Avenger in my heart. Maybe I’m super strong, I don’t know”.
“I definitely feel a lot more pressure as I got older. Now that I am past older, I feel a little bit less pressure. Now it’s like I’ve done everything I need to do. Like, I’ve had a great career, so I don’t feel the pressure as much anymore."
The 1966 Wimbledon winner Manolo Santana is in Wimbledon: "I came to see Rafa winning. He has great confidence in his shots, I have been looking at him for a long time in tournaments but here he is playing unbelievable."
On Roberto Bautista Agut, Santana added: "He gave me tremendous happiness when I was eating he came surprising me and hugged me, he is so happy and hopefully tomorrow he plays well because you have to see him as a winner.
Roberto against Pella has the toughest match. Rafa is playing incredible and the other (Sam Querrey) needs to play more the match."
