In an interview to SporTV, Patrick Mouratoglou commented on his working relationship with Serena Williams. The Frenchman said: "With her, I am not strict at all. It happens a couple of times but she does not need it. We have a good relationship, we trust each other.
It's a bit easier because I think she trusts me, she believes in me. Winning the 24th Major would be great, but it would also mean that there is one more to win because you do not want to equal a record, you want to beat it.
But you have to go step by step. Having the 24th would be unbelievable because it has been so tough. There is a lot of suffering, a lot of disappointment, and when you fight a lot to get something, your joy gets multiple. I am looking forward to this moment to come."
Both Cori Gauff and Stefanos Tsitsipas train in the Mouratoglou Academy in France. On how it feels to have two younger players getting to the top of tennis, Mouratoglou added: "It was never done something like this in tennis history.
We are very happy with how it is going because we are getting unbelievable results. We have a great team. We have been here for 23 years and the group is a good one, with a great fighting spirit." Serena is in the United States with her family, she is training ahead of Toronto and Cincinnati events that will lead her up to the US Open.
