Maternity is no longer an issue for Serena Williams, Azarenka - Hingis

In an interview to Coopzeitung the former world No. 1 Martina Hingis commented on Serena Williams, Patty Schnyder and Victoria Azarenka coming back to compete on the WTA Tour after becoming mothers. The Swiss former player said: "I could have never imagined that.

The comeback is no longer a problem. I travelled a lot for decades, now I enjoy my time at home. At the end of the day, the day where I miss travelling comes. So I will be in Paris or Wimbledon again to play the Legends event. But not this year.

For that I help my mother in her tennis school, which makes me enjoy a lot." Williams hopes to go far in Toronto where she last played in 2015 losing to Belinda Bencic in the quarter-finals. "I think whenever I come here I just have so much fun.

I love the city, I seem to know it really well. I'm here a lot even without the tournament. It's great. I just love being here." Belinda Bencic recalled her win over Williams: "I obviously remember everything.

It feels like it was yesterday, actually. And, yeah, for sure this is a match that I will always remember. I will never forget. I actually know all the details and stuff, and it's pretty crazy. But for sure my biggest one."
