Bianca Andreescu: 'Serena Williams is a genuine legend of the game'

Bianca Andreescu shared how she managed to beat Serena Williams in the US Open final. The Canadian player said: “I just battled until the end. I realize she returned the subsequent set, true to form. That is the reason she’s a genuine legend of this game.

Having that chance to play against her, most importantly, she’s only a benevolent individual. So I’m extremely appreciative for that experience. It’s so difficult to clarify in words, however I’m simply past appreciative and really honored.

I’ve worked ridiculously hard for this minute. I can’t gripe, this year has been a fantasy worked out as expected and now having the option to play on this stage — against Serena, a genuine legend of this game — is astonishing”.

"I could scarcely hear myself thoroughly consider there. The group is insane. That is the thing that makes the U.S. Open so exceptional in New York. It’s the fans, it’s the air. I’m happy at how I overseen only not to give anything a chance to divert me.

I was actually in the zone." Andreescu concluded praising her coach Sylvain Bruneau: "I think he deserves a lot. He's been with me through the ups and downs. We've been working ever since the beginning of 2018, so we've been through a lot together.

Just having his support and his knowledge for the game has helped me a lot. He's an incredible person, too. We get along very well on and off the court. I'm really glad with how everything is turning out with him. I'm truly grateful."
