Naomi Osaka: 'I did not watch US Open final between Williams and Andreescu'

Naomi Osaka was asked if she watched the US Open final win between Bianca Andreescu and Serena Williams. The Japanese player said: "No, I did not watch the US Open after I lost. Sorry. I knew that she (Andreescu) won, though.

But, yeah, I was watching her play in Toronto when I was there. It's pretty obvious, but she seems to be -- well, she is an amazing player. I don't know. I feel like she's doing better than I was last year, so it's all cool.

I have to learn from her, too." Speaking furthermore of Andreescu, Osaka added: "I'm older than her, very much so (smiling). Yeah, I noticed that she seems to be very, like, just focused. She plays a lot of three sets.

Is it just me? I think someone that plays a lot of three sets, it shows that they don't really care about (that) as they can just keep building off. Obviously, she won a Grand Slam. That's one of her very good traits.

But for me, I don't really like talking too much about who I'm going to play because they still haven't played their match yet. It's still undecided." On her next match against Ekaterina Alexandrova or Daria Kasatkina, Wozniacki added: "Alexandrova is playing aggressive tennis.

She hits big from forehand and backhand side. Yeah, that's that. Kasatkina mixes up the pace very well, tries to slow down the ball, uses the forehand to open up the court and play the angles. I'm happy to have played well so far in the tournament.

I've been feeling pretty good. That's always a plus. We'll just see. Hopefully, it's not the end of the tournament for me. Hopefully, I have a couple more matches in me. I'm just going to go and see."
