Hollywood superstar Will Smith has showcased his new look for the biopic 'King Richard' in which he plays Richard Williams, the father of tennis superstars Serena Williams and Venus Williams. Smith appeared quite unrecognizable while filming scenes for the movie.
Smith was seen with his on-screen daughters (Saniyya Sidney, 13, who plays Venus and Demi Singleton, 12, who plays Serena) while filming scenes on a tennis court in Los Angeles on February 28th He sported a pink polo shirt, crimson shorts, socks, and a salt and pepper beard as his look as Richard and it seemed like he was looking very much like Richard Williams from the 90s.
The movie also stars Jon Bernthal, who plays the role of the coach of the Williams’ Rick Macci. Reinaldo Marcus Green is directing the movie based on the life of Richard Williams. Meanwhile, actor Liev Schreiber has also joined the cast of the film.
Schreiber will play tennis coach Paul Cohen, a famous instructor who worked with several leading tennis players including John McEnroe and Pete Sampras, amongst others. The script has been done by Zach Baylin and depicts the story of Williams, who trained his two daughters to play tennis without having any prior knowledge of the sport and turned them both into Grand Slam winners and World No.
1 players. Richard said he saw a women's professional match on television and saw that the winner pocketed a cheque of several thousand dollars, which is when he decided that he would turn his daughters into world class tennis players.
