Thomas Enqvist enjoyed his role of being a vice captain for Team Europe at the Laver Cup as he had nothing but good to say of the players that represented Team Europe. Bjorn Borg was the team captain for Team Europe, while Enqvist was the vice captain.
Borg and Enqvist did an exceptional job of captaining Team Europe as their side claimed a 14-1 win over Team World. Players that represented Team Europe were Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud.
"I take so much pleasure to see my idol Bjorn Borg lead this fantastic group of players. What's impressed me the most is their personalities. I have to say these guys are super professional, they are humble, they are everything that represents our sport.
That's what I take with me from this week. These guys are unbelievable and they deserve all the success they have," Enqvist said.
Medvedev, Tsitsipas enjoyed the Laver Cup as much as Enqvist
"We had a great time, we are still having a great time, probably going to have a great celebration tonight.
From my side, really happy to bring two points to the team. We didn't lose a singles match, won two doubles out of three. The goal now is to try to win every match next year. We never know what's going to happen. It's an amazing event where best players in the world play against each other.
It is not going to be as easy all the time," Medvedev said. After the dominant victory over Team World, Tsitsipas gave shout out to team captains and players. "This experience is so extraordinary, with two incredible captains and players that are willing to give everything for this event.
I feel privileged to be standing where I am at right now and to be learning from the best -- that happens to be my teammates," Tsitsipas said.
