Alexander Zverev gives shout out to italian crowd after winning ATP Finals

German tennis star Alexander Zverev absolutely loves playing in Italiy as he gave a shout out to the Italian crowd after winning the ATP Finals in Turin. After 12 years in London, the ATP FInals took place in Turin. Zverev, 24, saw off world No.

2 Daniil Medvedev 6-4 6-4 to win his second ATP Finals title. Zverev enjoyed success in Italy in the past as he won the Rome Masters in 2017. “Obviously London the last 10 years was an incredible event, but for me personally, but I’m also holding the trophy right now, Italy has topped it,” said Zverev on court, per Eurosport.

“What does make it so special here in Italy is the fans, because the fans are absolutely insane; it’s the loudest crowd, it’s the most energetic crowd, Rome every year is one of my favourite tournaments of the year, I think this one has topped it.

I can’t wait to play in Italy every single time of my career. I love Italy so much and I hope Italy loves tennis just as much”.

Zverev was delighted with the Medvedev win

Zverev broke Medvedev once in each set and didn't allow the Russian a single break point to seal the title.

“It was great,” Zverev said in his on-court interview. “I won the [Nitto ATP] Finals, in the final against someone I had lost five times in a row, so I had to play one of my best matches. I am happy about that and happy to go on holiday with this win”.

Zverev has won at every level -- except the Grand Slam -- and his goal now is to win a Grand Slam in 2022. “It is special, and I am super thrilled and happy right now,” Zverev added. “There is no better way to end the season than winning here. I am incredibly happy and I am already looking forward to next year”.
