Nick Kyrgios: I play for those who struggle with confidence and insecurity

Nick Kyrgios admitted that he has struggled with motivation throughout his career and revealed that he now plays for everyone as he wants to serve as an inspiration to those who aren't happy with themselves. Kyrgios struggled with his weight as a kid and he wants to serve as an inspiration to those who are lacking confidence and feeling insecure.

"I lost a lot of motivation throughout my career a lot," Kyrgios told the Australian open. "And then, you know, I don't really play for myself anymore. You know, I obviously have my NK Foundation, but I just play for everyone, you know, all the kids and everyone, who you know, kind of lacks confidence, who is very insecure.

You know, I can relate to that as a young kid growing up. you know, I was a bit overweight. You know, I definitely feel when I'm playing, I'm playing for a lot of people, that I'm very relatable. As I said, I just play and I try to give people hope and I try and inspire and to just go out there and be comfortable in your own skin."

Kyrgios hit back at Bernard Tomic

Tomic said on Instagram that Kyrgios he is a better player than Kyrgios. Tomic mentioned his win over Kyrgios as the 2019 Kooyong Classic and it didn't take long for Kyrgios to respond.

“Where people play exhibitions - and yes he did beat me there once,” Kyrgios said on Instagram.. “But to say that he’s better? I have more titles. I don’t think he has any big scalp to his name, no Rafa, no Federer no Djokovic.

To say that he’s better than me, it’s a bit of a stretch. “But we all know what BT’s capable of and I wish him the best. “I ain’t no jealous person, I want success for everyone — so BT, we know what you are capable of brother, let’s see it”.
