Alexander Zverev: I didn't know I beat every single top-10 player in 2021

World No. 3 Alexander Zverev admitted he was unaware of the fact that he beat every top-10 player at least once in 2021. Zverev enjoyed a strong 2021 season as he made six finals and captured as many titles. "I didn't know I beat every single player in the top ten.

It's always a great stuff to know, that's not too bad. I'm looking forward to this year, I worked very hard during the off-season," Zverev said, per Lorenzo Ercoli. Zverev achieved some pretty big things in 2021 but he is still lacking a Grand Slam title.

"I have made it my goal to emerge stronger from moments like this. If at the end of the day you don't believe in yourself, who is going to do it?" Zverev told ZDF. "There are two that I haven't reached yet -- to win Grand Slams and become number one in the world.

I hope that all of this may already happen in Australia."

Zverev beat Novak Djokovic twice

Zverev beat Djokovic en route to winning the Tokyo Olympics and ATP Finals. Recently, Zverev admitted beating Djokovic made him feel "invincible." "I feel much more relaxed on the track and willing to show everyone what I am capable of.

Beating Djokovic in Tokyo and Turin has made me feel invincible," Zverev said. After losing to Zverev at the ATP Finals, Djokovic tipped the German to soon become a Grand Slam champion. “Of course we want to win against each other, but there is that respect and appreciation for each other that is more important than winning or losing.

That's something that I always had with Sascha. I really appreciate that,” Djokovic said after losing to Zverev at the ATP Finals. “I wish him all the best. He's a great guy, fantastic tennis player, I'm sure soon to be a Grand Slam champion."
