Former world No. 1 Simona Halep revealed she bought her wedding dresses from a store in Italy. In September, Halep married her long-term partner Toni Iuruc. "I just picked them in the store in Italy," Halep told the Australian Open, as quoted on Sportskeeda.
"I have been there. I just liked them (the dresses) so I didn't ask anybody. I'm not much involved in this stuff, but I like to enjoy the nice stuff that I like. So I never look at what is in trend right now. I just look for what is good for me and what I like.
So this is the way I picked my wedding dresses."
Halep didn't have the wedding dresses specially designed for her
"So you just picked them off the rack, you didn't get them made?" asked the interviewer.
Halep responded: "No, I just picked them from the store." Meanwhile, Halep made a perfect start to the 2022 season. Last week, Halep beat Veronika Kudermetova 6-2 6-3 in the Melbourne Summer Set 1 final. It was Halep's first title since 2020 and she was absolutely delighted.
"The body is great, I feel good," Halep said afterwards. "I had a tough five matches, and my body is good. I don't feel that tired. Physically I'm in the right place. Confidence is growing. I feel confident.
I feel that I have the game to win matches. "I'm not that scared when I lose serve because I lose often the serve, but I am confident in my return. I'm not getting scared there. I didn't even think that I lost the serve, I just focused on the return.
I just focused on every game I played. I was very positive." Halep is now set to play at the Australian. Halep, the 2018 Australian Open runner-up, was drawn to meet Magdalena French in the first round.
