Liam Broady: Nick Kyrgios sometimes makes you feel stupid with shots he hits

British tennis player Liam Broady said Nick Kyrgios sometimes makes you feel stupid with the shots he hits. Broady, ranked at No. 128 in the world, got his first chance to clash Kyrgios on Tuesday. Unfortunately for Broady, his first match with Kyrgios didn't go well as the Australian claimed a comfortable 6-4 6-4 6-3 win.

The whole arena stood behind Kyrgios, who to no one's surprise pulled off a couple of trick shots during his win. "Sometimes he makes you feel stupid with the shots he hits. You feel like a bit of a club player out there," Broady explained, as revealed by Reem Abulleil.

"If you told Nick to stop all of that showmanship and stuff he does it would take away a big strength of his game. I am all for it tbh even when it's against me."

John Cain Arena is probably Kyrgios' favorite arena to play tennis.

Broady had a fired up Kyrgios against him and the whole John Cain Arena. “The way he orchestrates the crowd, again, you see videos on TV, but it doesn’t do it justice when you’re playing in front of an Aussie crowd – Nick Kyrgios’ home court.

It was pretty crazy out there. But glad to have got it out of the way,” said Broady. “I mean (it was a) good experience and I think that’s the good thing about playing the great players is that you can always learn very quickly about what you need to work on.

“Everyone was telling me, like ‘Oh you’ll really enjoy it, it’s going to be amazing’. But I thought it was absolutely awful. I obviously wanted to go out there and win, so, I mean, losing matches in general isn’t enjoyable”. Broady made his Australian Open debut after winning three qualifying matches last week.
