Danielle Collins reacts to ousting Ons Jabeur in Miami

American tennis star Danielle Collins is having a strong Miami campaign as she was glad she was able to deliver a great performance against world No. 10 Ons Jabeur. Collins, seeded at No. 9, routinely handled Jabeur as she beat the Tunisian 6-2 6-4.

It was the third meeting between the two and Collins' second win over Jabeur. Collins beat Jabeur when they clashed the first time at the 2020 French Open but the Tunisian won their second meeting that came at the Indian Wells Masters last year.

On Monday in Miami, Collins got her revenge for the loss she suffered to Jabeur in Indian Wells. "I feel like we come out here and either one of us could win on any given day," Collins said afterwards, per the WTA Tour website.

"She beat me in practice a few days ago, and beat me in Indian Wells. We've had some great times on court, so I was just trying to be competitive against my friend. "I've had some of my best results after coming back from injuries or having a little bit of time off at the end of the year.

I try to tell myself that when I feel a little off or rusty."

Collins was all about business

The two players were tied at two games apiece through the opening four games but then Collins claimed back-to-back breaks and won four games in a row to win the first set in the style.

After easily winning the first set, Collins lost her serve in the opening game of the second set. However, it didn't take long for Collins to get back into the set as she broke back Jabeur in the second game. No more breaks were seen until the 10th game, when Collins broke Jabeur for the fourth time in the match to get the job done in two sets. Collins faces former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka in the Miami quarterfinal.
