Frances Tiafoe jokes after losing thriller: F--- David Goffin, beats me at Slams

American tennis star Frances Tiafoe lost an absolute thriller at Wimbledon but afterward praised David Goffin's level as he called the Belgian "a hell of a player." In the Wimbledon last-16, Goffin edged out Tiafoe 7-6 (3) 5-7 5-7 6-4 7-5 after four hours and 36 minutes of play.

It was the sixth meeting between the two and Goffin's fifth win over Tiafoe. Goffin struggled with his game at the start of the season but he has been playing better since the clay season. "He's been playing well since he's been trying to come back.

Obviously this tournament no points, but he's been playing really well. I like him a lot. Good guy. I hope he keeps going," Tiafoe said, per Reem Abulleil.

Tiafoe jokes: F--- that guy

A month ago at the French Open, Goffin defeated Tiafoe in four sets.

Now, Tiafoe has lost to Goffin in back-to-back Grand Slams. "Yeah probably in a couple days maybe if I watch the match back or whatever I'll be like yeah man that was crazy to be a part of. The only thing I can say honestly right now is f--- David.

He beat me two slams in a row. F--- that guy Nah, he's a hell of a player," Tiafoe added.

Tiafoe certainly had his chances against Goffin but he just missed out on them.

Tiafoe was down by two breaks in the fourth set as Goffin had a 5-1 lead. Tiafoe managed to break Goffin twice in a row and cut the deficit to 5-4 but then dropped his serve in the 10th game, when he was serving to stay in the fourth set.

In the 11th game of the fifth set, Tiafoe had the first break points of the decider. Tiafoe didn't convert any of his two consecutive break points as Goffin took a 6-5 lead. After saving two break points in the 11th game, Goffin broke Tiafoe in the 12th game to seal a thriller five-set win
