Thiem and embarrassing anecdote with Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray

After the best time of his career, in 2020, with the victory of his first Grand Slam at the US Open, a wrist injury and an almost interminable series of related problems has sucked Dominic Thiem into a negative. But now he is come back.

Up until that moment, the Austrian had managed to push himself up to the third position of the ATP ranking and was also able to compete with the Fab Four of tennis such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray.

About the Fab Four, Thiem revealed the most embarrassing moment he experienced in a locker room. The 29-year-old from Wiener Neustadt candidly stated that he shared the same place with his famous colleagues: "In reality, that must be the first time I've been in the same locker room with Rafa, Roger, Novak, Andy you know, I mean you see these guys when you're only 10 on TV and then you're next to them in the locker room and they don't know what to say.

You're like: Oh! Who is that? I mean, I didn't even know those guys were real. So it's pretty embarrassing, not for them, but for me!"

Jez Green: "Soon the real Dominic"

After a very disappointing start to the season in terms of results, Dominic Thiem then started to get going and week after week he got back on top.

One of his coaches, Jez Green, assured that the real Thiem will meet again soon: "Dominic has already been at the top and working with him is a very interesting project. His fitness situation is a lot of fun: his former coach was really old school and he didn't really care about it, so things have changed since my arrival.

We have made improvements in his schedule and he is doing things he has never done before." The trainer then spoke about the Austrian’s condition and said: "I think we will soon begin to see the real Thiem, the one we have all known.

He needs to play at least 25 high-level games and I think he's ready for that. He has played in several Grand Slam finals and I think that, for example at Roland Garros, Thiem in the best conditions is the favorite for the final victory.

He has great motivations and has another 5-6 years of tennis, I am sure that Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal will not want to see a Thiem in the best possible condition."
