Moncler CEO: "Maria Sharapova has the gift of communication"

In an interview for Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Remo Ruffini, CEO of the famous fashion brand Moncler, talked about many topics, from the Italian Serie A soccer competition, to tennis, especially focusing on Maria Sharapova.

The splendid Siberian tennis player, winner of 5 Slams, is part of the Moncler board of directors. When asked about tennis and former Russian player, Ruffini said: "I used to play squash and my back knows it well! Actually I am very happy to welcome people from different worlds like Maria Sharapova to the advice.

She has conquered with the result and tenacity, but also with femininity. And she has the gift of someone who knows how to communicate."

Sharapova and the new life as a mother

Maria Sharapova announced her retirement back in February 2020 and now faces her new path as a married woman and mother of a small child, Theo.

Sharapova spoke in an interesting New Beauty interview, explaining: "The role of mother has to come at a certain point in your life, I felt ready and to be honest it was something I always dreamed of. I have an excellent relationship with my mother, we are very close and we share a lot, we are close and also for this reason I wanted to have a child so that I could share my experiences with him.

I'm excited to see him grow and I'm learning new things too. Every day is a new day, there is always something to learn and it is a great challenge. The sporty aspect is also very demanding, it keeps you grounded every day.

Tennis was something I wanted to do every week, beyond winning and losing. I always had to reinvent myself and challenge myself and I didn't feel comfortable. I don't know if it is more difficult to be a tennis player or a mother, let's say that both roles are very demanding.

Theodore is an exemplary child, I often talk to him and pray that he has a quiet day. Fortunately he is very good, I was lucky I must say. Also when I breastfeed I am always hungry, I feel I have to eat all the time and this makes me curious.

This was the fastest year of my life, it flew away in the blink of an eye. I am excited about this phase of my life, I feel like I am spending my first months of life and I see that everything is fine. I'm curious to understand how my life will unfold, between work and family and the important thing is to find the right balance."
