Bianca Andreescu: Lost my concentration a little bit but I think I played really well

Bianca Andreescu said she felt she "played really well" in her Hua Hia first-round win over Harriet Dart. Andreescu, seeded at No 1, kicked off her Hua Hin campaign with a 6-3 6-4 win over 104th-ranked Dart. It was Andreescu's first match since suffering a shock second-round defeat to Cristina Bucsa at the Australian Open.

"I think I played really well. In the second set, I felt like I lost my concentration just a little bit. Waiting around all day isn't fun. So I was a bit tired but I'm super glad that I bounced back and was able to finish the match," Andreescu said after her opening win in Hua Hin, per Lukas Weese.

How Andreescu defeated Dart

Andreescu got off to a great start to the match, breaking Dart in the very first game of the match.

Down by a break, Dart didn't quit as she broke back Andreescu in the sixth game to tie the first set to three games apiece. After just getting a break back, Dart missed out on a game point in the seventh game as Andreescu again broke the Briton to go 4-3 up.

In the ninth game - when Dart was serving to stay in the first set - Andreescu earned her third break of the set to clinch the opener. After the first two games of the second set, Andreescu and Dart were tied to one game apiece.

Then, Andreescu earned back-to-back breaks in the fourth and sixth games to win four games in a row and open a 5-1 lead. Just when it seemed the match was over, Dart responded with back-to-back breaks in the seventh and ninth games to cut the deficit to 5-4.

Dart worked hard to get both breaks back but then in the 10th game - when she was serving to tie the set to five games apiece - she again lost her serve as Andreescu escaped with a straight-set win. Andreescu plays Anastasia Zakharova in the Hua Hin round-of-16.
