Jannik Sinner: "I don't know if it will be me, Alcaraz and Rune will be the new Big 3

Jannik Sinner talked about many topics, after his victory at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters against Hubert Hurkacz. The Italian tennis player has many doubts about the future of tennis after the Big 3, Roger Federer, Rafael Nada and Novak Djokovic.
Many think that the heirs of the three champions are Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune. But Sinner is not convinced. He told: "The next big 3? I don't know if it will be me, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune, because in reality there are many other players who can fit for the top, such as Lorenzo Musetti for example.
Or someone from the generation before ours, so Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev or others their age. I don't look too much into the future, I don't like making predictions. The important thing is to keep working hard to try and get to the results that matter." Sinner analyzed with great clarity the match won against his friend Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 in Monte-Carlo.
The Italian found himself down by a set and a break but never gave up, even when the Pole had a precious match point available. The Italian reacted as only great champions can do and, after miraculously saving the second set, he imposed his domination on his opponent.
He said: "It's never nice to be one point away from defeat. You're not in good shape when you get there. Regardless of the match point, the match was difficult, but I managed to find solutions to the problems my opponent posed to me.
We talked about it in the locker room with Hubert, in the match point I moved the game first, but it could have ended either way. When he serves well, there's not much you can do, you try to play your chance hoping maybe he'll put in a second or make a mistake.
Until the set and break below I didn't have any important chances. But today in general I answered well on the second: the tactic was to stay close to the field because I was afraid he would serve & volley. From the second set onwards I took the chances I had.
And in the third I understood that momentum was important right from the beginning, the initial break started me on the way to victory." On the possibility of facing one between Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti (we recall musetti defeated Nole - ed.) He added: "I don't want to talk too much about Novak, out of respect for Musetti.
But we certainly know each other better today than before, both on and off the pitch. We are talking above all about tennis, but also about other things, for example Milan and basketball. It goes without saying that he is one of the greatest in history. If so, it would be a very tough match, as always against him."
