Mats Wilander reveals the secret that will allow Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic is ready to play Wimbledon 2023, especially after winning his 23rd grand Slam, overtaking Rafael Nadal. Nole has decided to take a few weeks off from competitions, skipping the prestigious tournaments in Halle and Queen's.

The world number two participated at the Hurlingham's exhibition tournament, the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic, where she beat Frances Tiafoe in his only match on grass before the London Slam, where he will start as favorite to win the final.

Mats Wilander believes Djokovic is the favorite at Wimbledon because no other player is as comfortable as Nole on the All England Club lawns. Mats explained: "For me Djokovic is the big favorite. And the reason why I think he's the big favorite is that I haven't yet seen anyone who is as solid as Novak from the baseline and who serves as well as Novak.

So, over the years, his service has improved time after time. At the French Open against Carlos Alcaraz, we saw how important serve is, how important it is to get three points on first serve, especially when the score is close in your service games.

And I don't see this with Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Alex de Minaur or other youngsters. No one serves like him."

Wilander said Djokovic can rewrite tennis history, agains

Then on the chances of him winning his 8th Wimbledon and 24th Grand Slam, the Swede said: "I mean Novak is under a lot of pressure because, if he wins, he reaches Margaret Court at 24 Grand Slams.

If he wins, he will be one step away from repeating the Grand Slam of the calendar. So I think the weight of expectation is there, but I don't think it's quite there yet. I think he learned a lot from his loss to Daniil Medvedev in the final at the US Open, when history was literally on the line, and from winning the Grand Slam calendar.

Of course it's been done before, but Novak would part ways with the other two greats, Roger and Rafa." Wilander thinks it will be different this time: "This time I think Wimbledon is a bit more relaxed for him. I think he goes into the tournament thinking, okay, a grass court is very uncomfortable for most players.

At least that's my way of looking at it. For me there are some players that he can lose to, but I don't see many players that can win the tournament." Finally he concluded: "If you look at the US Open or the Australian Open instead, there are many more players who can have a fantastic two weeks and win here.

No one feels comfortable on a grass court, apart from Novak Djokovic. And the reason he feels comfortable, I think, is because he knows the other players feel uncomfortable."
