Iga Swiatek has ambitions at the highest level: "My goal is to win any match"

Iga Swiatek wants to win her first title on grass-court, and the world number 1 wants to go all the way at Wimbledon. The surface of the Championships is undoubtedly not the Polish one preferred, but the first three convincing victories of her British campaign bode well.

In the round of 16 Swiatek will face the Swiss Belinda Bencic. After the victory in the third round against Petra Martic, the Polish tennis player talked at the press conference about the positive sensations she had on the court.

The words of Iga Swiatek in the press conference

On the confidence gained after the first three outings, Swiatek commented: "It's definitely a tournament where I feel more comfortable in terms of playing on grass. I feel I can build on the experience from previous years and add to what I've felt before this tournament.

The four-time Grand Slam champion was asked if the win against Martic was her best career victory on grass. About last season, she said: "t's hard to compare honestly. There are too many factors. When you watch all these matches, it's hard to judge because it also depends on the opponent.

Every day is different. Sometimes the challenges are different. If the game is more difficult and you pass it, you may even be satisfied. So it's hard to name just one game." On last year's experience she explained: "Honestly, I don't want to go back to last year, especially since we don't have to defend the points.

It seems to me that last year was a little different, especially on my return after winning the Roland Garros. It wasn't the easiest time for me. I try not to go back to that moment. I'm just experiencing this period of time playing on grass, and that's about it.

It's a completely different chapter." Swiatek concluded by talking about the possibility of reaching the quarterfinals, which would be her best result at Wimbledon: "It doesn't really matter to me, especially if it's two years ago and a lot has happened since then.

My goal is to win any match, no matter if I'm improving on my previous results. I will have the same level of focus and the same determination."
