Jannik Sinner ended Wimbledon with a positiv semifinal. He managed to improve on the result obtained on the London grass last year where he was stopped in the quarterfinals. The Italian has repeatedly said he is satisfied with the level of play expressed in the two weeks, including the performance against the Serbian champion Novak Djokovic, who prevailed 3-0 and got the qualification for the final act on Sunday together with Carlos Alcaraz.

On the issue, the former world number one Mats Wilander intervened and commented on the progress shown by the Italian tennis player in recent months. He exolained: "Jannik is the best Italian player at the moment. Matteo Berrettini is great again, he is strong, but Sinner is going more and more in the right direction.

His improvements were natural. Those of Carlos Alcaraz were fast, Carlos has already won a Grand Slam but the Italian is working to be like him. He hasn't finished yet. He's growing, he's putting on weight, muscle and strength." The former Swedish athlete added to Eurosport's microphones: "His game has changed a lot too.

He tries to go more to the net but I don't think this is natural for him, as it is for Alcaraz or Holger Rune. On the other hand, consistency comes out week after week, if he manages to avoid injuries."

The next tournaments for Sinner

The talented 21-year-old and his staff, led by coaches Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill, deserved about three weeks off before returning to the lead in an official competitive competition.

In fact, barring news, the Italian will come back to the court directly for the season on American hard courts: the first appointment will be the Canada Open, scheduled from 4 to 13 August. This will be followed by the Cincinnati tournament, which will be important in preparing for the last Grand Slam of the year (US Open).

Meanwhile, today is going to be live the much awaited Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. The two top seed of the draw will clash in what taht could be the match of the year.
