The US tennis icon Billie Jean King celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Battle won against Bobby Riggs, but she also celebrate Coco Gauff's victory at the US Open 2023. As reported by People, Billie Jean King considers Coco's victory as an example of social justice.

She explained: "That Coco won was just amazing. When I see her, she's the reason we fought so hard 50 years ago. She is truly fantastic for our sport and I think she is a huge force. She comes from her grandmother, Yvonne Lee Odom.

She was the first black girl to attend an all-white school in Delray.

Listening to her story, if you're a granddaughter and you hear your grandmother talk about going to a white school and being the only black child, I think that's a huge selling point for her.

But I want her to be happy, that's the first thing. She's really exciting to watch and she's a great athlete”. At 19 years and 181 days, Coco Gauff won her first Slam title, thus becoming the third young American tennis player to triumph in the women's tournament in New York, equaling the feats of Serena Williams (1999) and Tracy Austin (1979 and 1981).

Thanks to this victory, Gauff will rise to third place in the world rankings, the best result of her career so far. And it seems that the best is yet to come for her.
