Cameron Norrie is one of the disappointments of this season. The British tennis player has had few ups and many downs in 2023 and has now slipped to number 17 in the ATP world ranking. And to think that his 2022 was fantastic and we saw a real exploit from him on the circuit.

Great disappointment because at the end of 2022 the Briton had very different expectations and indeed dreamed of top positions. Cameron is in difficulty, as demonstrated by the recent two defeats in Davis' group, which, fortunately, did not affect his Great Britain, which still qualified for the quarter-finals.

Norrie shares a honest retrospective on his season

Norrie said: "I have never felt so good after two defeats. I was able to leave the match and the tournament still feeling very good and it's a fantastic feeling. It was a great honor to represent my country again."

In the presentation press conference at the Chinese tournament in Zhuhai, Cameron analyzed his season in the best possible way: "I came into this season with the aim of giving priority to the Slams but in these tournaments as in the others I was not able to play my best tennis .

This disappointed me a lot and I think I can learn from the way I handled this season. I have to understand that after 4-5 matches of a Slam you have to raise your level, you will certainly face even better tennis players." The tennis player then clarified: "I need to clear my head, work a lot in the preseason and improve in the Slams." Then the tennis player talked about the possibility of reaching the Finals, which is objectively very difficult: "At the beginning of the season it was a priority of mine but there were some things that affected me, first and foremost my level of tennis.

I have worked and am working a lot to increase my level." However, Cameron Norrie praised the level of his team, an extraordinary team that helped him in the most difficult moments and that will still try to make him improve today.
