Pablo Carreno Busta gave an interview to Punto de Break in which he talked about the state of men's tennis today, focusing especially on Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

The Spanish tennis player, away from the ATP circuit due to physical problems that have prevented him from competing since February 2023, when he lost against Richard Gasquet, wanted to express his opinion on the world's players.

Carreno Busta started by talking about one of the main rivalries in tennis this season: Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz. Many aspects link the 24 Slam champion and the Spaniard, from the disqualification at the US Open to the match at the Olympic Games. While the two countrymen are linked by a strong friendship, as social media and declarations demonstrate. In fact, Carreno Busta is not surprised by Alcaraz's level.

"Djokovic continued to be as he was, Carlos maintained the level he had last year. Maybe this might surprise someone, but not me," he said.

Pablo Carreno Busta also wanted to share his thoughts on the other two young tennis players protagonists of this tour: Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune. Two talents who have changed compared to when Carreno was one of the protagonists of the circuit, i.e. in the 2022 season finale.

"There are young players like Jannik Sinner, who seems to have made a small step forward. Rune, even though he hasn't won many matches in the last few months, has also improved," said the Spanaird.

In particular, the Spaniard and the Italian number one faced each other on two occasions last season: Sinner's great comeback win on the hard courts of the Miami Open; Carreno Busta's revenge arrives in Montreal, winning one of the victories, a crushing one at that, that led him to the final title.
