Iga Swiatek is one step away from reaching the top of the world rankings again. To do this she will have to win Jessica Pegula in the last act of the WTA Finals. The Polish player, winner of 4 Slams during her young career, including 3 at the Roland Garros, has regained her lost luster in recent months and is ready to take back the scepter.

Her trip to Cancun so far has been practically perfect. No sets lost against top-level opponents such as Marketa Vondrousova, Coco Gauff, Ons Jabeur and lastly Aryna Sabalenka. "When they ask me how I manage being one of the best in the world at 22 years old, I realize that I can't answer because it comes naturally to me.

I don't know any other lifestyle and when I suffer I remember that I'm fulfilling all my dreams and that it's worth paying all the tolls to live this life," Polacca said proudly.

Swiatek added: “I live in a perpetually high-pressure environment, but it makes me very happy to be there.

Honestly, I never thought I could get to where I am, especially being so young. Sometimes I realize I feel much older than my age says, so I try not to think about it too much. " Swiatek is one step away from winning her first title among the best 8 players in the world.

In the final, the American Pegula awaits her. Here's what he thinks of the challenge that awaits him tonight: "I assume that it will be the most difficult match of the entire week. I don't want to think about anything other than preparing thoroughly for the match on a tactical level and doing everything possible to get to the best ways." The final in Cancun will start at the 11pm local time: if Iga should win the title, she will close the season as the new WTA world no.1
