Daniil Medvedev revealed what he wants to achieve at the 2023 ATP Finals, during the Media Day of the year-end Masters. The Russian touched on some very interesting topics during the press conference. Daniil will make his debut at the PalaAlpitour on Monday evening against his compatriot friend Andrey Rublev, in a match that will give away the first points of the competition.

Medvedev expressed splendid words for the city which is hosting the prestigious end-of-season event. "I love Turin, it's the third time I've come there. I have many good memories, but also some less beautiful ones. In any case, I'm happy to be among the eight best players in the world again this year.

The derby with Rublev? It's not certainly the first time that we are both participating in the Finals, we have already faced each other many times in the most prestigious stadiums. It is an honor for me to be here with him, the hope is to inspire many other children to start playing tennis," is the goal announced by Medvedev, who is intensifying his training to be ready for battle.

Medvedev-Rublev, doubles at the Olympics? The number 3 in the world ranking also spoke about the Olympics in Paris in 2024. "Andrey and I still don't know if we will be able to play. If I could, I will definitely be there. In tennis we perhaps tend to think that it is not the most important tournament, but it is undoubtedly beautiful and exciting.

Something will certainly change on a programming level, given that the Olympics will be held on clay," he said. The two will give life to a good battle on Monday: one of the two would take an important step forward in terms of qualifying for the next phase of the tournament.

Medvedev could be considered one of the favorite for the final victory at the 2023 edition of the ATP Finals, after Novak Djokovic and with Carlitos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
