The 7-time ATP Finals champion and 24-time Slam winner Novak Djokovic carries with him a secret relating to his racket and Marc Rossani, official stringer of the Nitto ATP Finals held at the Pala AlpiTour in Turin, revealed the curiosities of Nole's tool, in an interview with at welovetennis.fr.
"We didn't have the opportunity to string his rackets because he uses a private service, but I was able to work with him in other tournaments, such as Wimbledon. His racket is one of the strangest and most particular on the circuit because there is a lot of lead, when the current trend makes them increasingly lighter.
For example, Sinner's weighs 320 grams, which is something you can find in any store. Tennis players tend to have lighter rackets lately to try to prevent injuries," explained Rossani.
But is the racket the secret of Nole's extraordinary season?
Novak Djokovic's 2023 did not end with the victory of the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, as the Serbian was busy with his country at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.
Serbia, after defeating Great Britain, stopped just one step away from the final. Djokovic himself had three match points at his disposal to take him to the final, but Jannik Sinner accomplished a real feat and turned around a match that now seemed lost.
The 24 Slam champion failed to win again the team competition which saw Serbia triumph in the 2010 final against France. Serbia won with a score of 3-2 and saw the champion from Belgrade as the great protagonist having won both singles matches played against Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon.
With the victory at the Masters Tournament, Djokovic reached 7 trophies, surpassing Swiss legend Roger Federer who stands at 6. Furthermore, he is the tennis player who has won the most Finals after the age of 35 since the competition was created in 1975.
In season Instead, Djokovic won 3 Slam titles: Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open, while he lost the Wimbledon final against Carlitos Alcaraz, at the end of a 5-sets epic challenge.
