The former Italian tennis champion Adriano Panatta, interviewed by Il Riformista, discussed many topics, including his young countryman Jannik Sinner. The former winner of the French Open predicted the future of the current ATP world no.4: "Where can he go? First of all, let's say that he has already arrived very far, he is among the top four in the world and the impression is that he can only improve.

I think that he has all the qualities to become number one, then let's say that he is among the candidates, he can get there in one, two or three years. At the moment there is Novak Djokovic who is like Highlander but sooner or later he will have to stop too." Regarding his rivals, Panatta mentions three names in particular and clarifies: "In the next few years Jannik will compete with Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune and Ben Shelton, the latter is an emerging American and in my opinion he is very strong.

Overall they are four very talented young people and I think they will dominate international tournaments." Regarding a current tennis player who might resemble him, Panatta said: "Tennis has changed a lot and I think there is no one who can resemble me or even no one like that I can resemble.

The game really is too different, the rackets and many other things have changed."

Sinner shone in the last month of this tennis season

Jannik Sinner is the tennis player who shone the most in the last month of the season.

The Davis Cup was won just under a week ago and the Italian tennis player rewrote the history of Italian tennis, leading Italy to victory. Although we are talking about a group victory, Jannik was decisive, achieving a huge victory in the semifinals - first in singles and then in doubles - against world number 1 Novak Djokovic.

A victory that will remain in history and that rewrote the history of Italian tennis. The young Italian will try in 2024 to get best results in the Slams: till now, his best one was the semifinal at Wimbledon 2023.
