Much credit for the growth shown by Jannik Sinner in the second part of 2023 goes to his two coaches, Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill. This year, the young Italian has shown great improvements, especially with his serve and his variations.

Cahill, in an interview for Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, discussed many topics, underlining how his player resembles legends of the past. "His great virtue is that he knows how to adapt to all types of situations and he is a very good boy and very mature for his age.

To tell the truth he reminds me a bit of how Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander handled pressure! Jannik always smiles, he is very intelligent and competitive and manages to create a great atmosphere wherever he goes," said Cahill.

Talking about the last part of the season, Cahill added: "I'm not surprised at the level he's played at over the last two weeks and I know how much he loves the sport and how much he works for it. He's learned a lot over the last two years and his improvement has been marked in various aspects, as well as its slices.

He has also improved on his forehand and we are talking about one of the most impressive shots I have ever seen in my career." The coach is confident for the future and convinced that Jannik's future is only at the beginning of his great career.

Sinner, what a crazy ending to 2023!

Sinner's growth in 2023 has been exponential. The ATP world no.4 has achieved great results this year. The one just concluded is certainly the best season of his very young career, during which he achieved many milestones, such as the best ranking, an ATP Masters 1000 and the final at the ATP Finals, where Jannik only surrendered to the best Novak Djokovic.

And 2023 ended on a high note for Sinner, who made history by bringing the Davis Cup back to Italy - a trophy that had been missing for 47 years - the second in the history of Italian tennis. Crazy numbers and Sinner has no intention of stopping, but everyone is convinced that this is just the beginning of an extraordinary career.
