During the SuperTennis Awards, Jannik Sinner was awarded as the best Italian player of the year. The young No.4 of the ATP world ranking, author of a wonderful season, was awarded with this recognition during the Italian tennis festival organized by SuperTennis.

Jannik demonstrated to all his fans and his rivals how much he has improved in 2023, especially from the second half of the season, from the Wimbledon semi-final to the triumph in the Davis Cup. The number 4 in the world, driving Italy in the Davis Cup , gave an emotion that was missing from this country for 47 years.

Sinner granted a long interview during the ceremony, talking about many topics and, in a touching moment, sending a beautiful message to his countryman Matteo Berrettini. In Malaga, Sinner, together with captain Filippo Volandri and teammates Lorenzo Sonego, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi and Simone Bolelli made history.

However, there is another tennis player who has always been there with them to make him feel his support, despite not being able to take to the court, and that was "Seeing the players on the bench when you're playing, asking Berrettini or others their point of view as players is nice.

Winning a Davis Cup like this is special. I want to say that seeing Matteo there was very nice. He's not inside with his name on the cup, but if it could be done in some way we all would like him to be there," said the Italian tennis player, demonstrating once again how united the group is, and underlining with beautiful words the moral and psychological provided by Berrettini during the Davis Cup triumph.

Jannik revealed also what was the turning point of his season: "The victory in Toronto was a key moment in my season. I had already achieved excellent results since the beginning of the year, but I still couldn't win my first Masters 1000.

I lost two finals in Miami. But winning it meant a lot to my career. But we weren't satisfied, we continued to work hard and it allowed us to have a great last part of the season."
