Nikolay Davydenko, former No.3 of the ATP world ranking, does not think that the new young stars of the ATP Tour Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune can be remotely compared to Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

Davydenko analyzed how tennis players such as Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are still able to establish themselves among the new generation.

Davydenko made an analysis of this tennis Era

"Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are no longer 18, but at the moment I don't see any other player who can replace them immediately, stars like that don't exist.

Now a new team has formed, but I don't have the feeling that their time is running out and another generation is coming along. There are also Alcaraz, Rune and Sinner," Davydenko told Championat, before focusing on Djokovic.

The Serbian champion imposed his dominance again in 2023 by winning three Slams (Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open), two Masters 1000 and the ATP Finals. In the Slams, Nole only lost the Wimbledon final in the fifth set against Alcaraz.

The Spaniard showed all his talent by triumphing in the fifth set in an epic match. "He is unique. He plays with the technique and experience that he has always accumulated, when he also played with us. Novak has always remained faithful to his physical characteristics, he has tried to maintain strength and concentration.

He understood that with his tennis he can beat everyone. The Big 3 generation is stronger," expalined Davydenko. As we reported in the previous article published on Tennis World USA a few minutes ago, the former ATP Finals winner underlined in his analysis how Carlitos Alcaraz is subject to injuries due to the type of training that is performed in Spain.

We would like to close recalling the young Spanish tennis player will play an exhibition match on March 2024 against his legendary countryman Rafael Nadal.
