Jannik Sinner won his 11th match in a row in 2024, reaching the Top-3 of the ATP ranking for the first time in his career, right in 3rd place, thanks to reaching the ABN AMRO, ATP 500 tournament on the Rotterdam hard-courts. Sinner defeated Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets to reach this milestone.

A historic achievement for Italy, which in the Open Era had never had a player capable of going so far in the men's rankings. At the end of the semi-final won in Rotterdam, the Italian was not elated, but recognized the weight of the result achieved with great merit and sacrifice.

"It certainly means a lot for me and I believe for all of Italy too. As I always say: the most important thing is to push Italian tennis in a direction in which many more kids start playing and to be an example for them. It has a This has more weight. In the end it's just a number," Sinner said in the interview with Sky Sport.

The 22-year-old talked about his performance against Tallon Griekspoor, which allowed him to reach the final in Rotterdam.

"I undoubtedly raised my level"

"If we look at the match, I undoubtedly raised my level. It was certainly the best match of the tournament that I have had so far. I hope it can give me confidence for Sunday's final," he underlined.

In the final of the competition, lost last year against Daniil Medvedev, Sinner will meet the Australian Alex De Minaur with whom he is ahead 6-0 in the head-to-head.

The precedents are absolutely not taken into consideration by the athlete coached by Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill, who warned: "Obviously from deep he's someone who moves very well. He plays very well on these courts, the balls are quite heavy and don't bounce very high. When you shoot flat, the ball stays inside and can put you in trouble. I can't wait to get back on the pitch and try to do well. The most important thing is to always give 100%," Jannik analyzed.
