"Obviously I would like to thank my boyfriend for being here. Last night he finished very late and I know he made a big effort to get to me. But I won't say much more, I don't want to embarrass him! I really appreciate his gesture."

With these words, the British tennis player Katie Boulter moved the crowd present in San Diego, after the victory of the tournament in the final against Marta Kostyuk. Boulter thanked her boyfriend Alex De Minaur for the long and complicated journey she undertook to support her fiancée in the final.

In fact, in the stands of the Barnes Stadium, during the final with Kostyuk, there was Alex de Minaur cheering for Katie Boulter. The Australian champion engaged to the beautiful and strong British tennis player did not waste time after the success achieved at the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco and immediately reached San Diego, traveling over 3000 km to support his girlfriend.

The magical week of Boulter and De Minaur

For the two tennis players it was a magical week, because Boulter also triumphed, beating her comeback rival with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. The Briton won the second title of her career and earned her best ranking, at 27th position.

"Right now I don't know what happened, I'm not aware of it yet. The truth is that this week has been special, for several reasons. It's a truly incredible achievement for me, but I know I've also worked very hard for this. I admit that I was a little nervous, but I managed to overcome that barrier, which I'm very proud of. I managed to overcome all the difficult moments: the secret was within me," said Katie, during the awards ceremony.
