Stefanos Tsitsipas is going through a period of crisis, in which the lack of results has led him to slip out of the Top 10 after almost 5 years.

The two-time Slam finalist, one of the last interpreters of the one-handed backhand, however had the opportunity to console himself thanks to the praise of tennis legend Roger Federer.

The Swiss Maestro, in an interview during the awards ceremony of the 96th edition of the Academy Awards, expressed his esteem for the current ATP No.11

Roger Federer expressed on Stefanos Tsitsipas

When asked what he thinks of the Greek tennis player, Federer wished his former opponent to return to expressing his game soon and to obtain good results this year.

"Of course, Tsitsipas is still doing well, and I hope he can do great things this year and turn his career around," Federer said. The former ATP No.1 then recalled his two defeats in the clashes against the Greek.

"Well, I mean, obviously I've lost to him a lot of times and I think he's a great player, but I'd like to see him take it to the next level. So I wish him the best," he told.

Tsitsipas hasn't won a tournament since the ATP 250 in Los Cabos last August 6, when he won the final against Alex De Minaur. In 2024 his score is 9 wins and 4 losses.

He was never questioned. If at the age of 25 you have played two slam finals and won an edition of the ATP Finals, reaching third position in the ATP ranking, you must have something special.
