There will be no happy ending for Novak Djokovic at the ATP 250 tournament in Geneva. Indeed, the ATP No.1 will have even more doubts and unknowns after the defeat which have probably increased after the defeat against Tomas Machac (6-4, 0-6, 6-1) in the semi-final of the Swiss tournament.

Before yet another seasonal disappointment, Djokovic-  after beating Tallon Griekspoor in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 in Geneva - talked about various issues, one of which is the highly anticipated first round of the Roland Garros, where Rafael Nadal will face Alexander Zverev, after also praising the performances of his opponent Griekspoor in Geneva.

"He is progressing. In the last match we played I was a couple of points away from winning, but I recovered and managed to come back. Today he was better in the first set, but it was similar. He played at an excellent level, serving very well. If he can maintain the level of much of the first set, he can go far. He has tennis to play on all surfaces, he is a very tough opponent. In the second set he stopped believing, in tennis a couple of points can change everything.

Today I played very well in the second set. Today's conditions are a little different and affect the trajectory of the ball, the speed of the point, so they force you to change tactically. Adaptation is very important. It was important to stay there in the first set, he played very aggressively and it was very difficult to return his serve. Then, at 4-5 0-40, the match was decided. The performance in the second set was better for me," he told.

Djokovic then talked about the Roland Garros draw, which by a twist of fate gave the match - as mentioned - between Nadal and Zverev in the first round.

"Yes, I saw it. A total spectacle. I can't wait to see it, it will be a very interesting match. Zverev arrives in great shape, after the victory in Rome. On the Roland Garros court he is not the same Rafa who we're used to it. It's Roland Garros, so we'll see what happens," explained Djokovic.
