Carlos Alcaraz has reached the Roland Garros semi-final for the second consecutive year. Last season he was defeated by Novak Djokovic and cramps while this year he will find his friend and rival Jannik Sinner, who has just become ATP No.1. Carlitos won his 6th head-to-head against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the Parisian Slam, showing an excellent level of psycho-physical fitness.

The young Spaniard talked about the match against Sinner in the press conference, explaining how he doesn't feel like the favorite to win, praising his Italian rival.

"I really want to face him, it will be a great battle and I would like to take the lead in the direct clashes. He has acquired a lot of consistency this year and always expresses a very high level of play on the court. He doesn't make any mistakes and hits the ball incredibly. He constantly pushes you to the limit and it's very difficult not to let him take the initiative during rallies. I love competing against him, because it's a thought that always makes me wake up wanting to be a better player. I really like having to find new solutions during the matches against him, as I also did in Indian Wells. I think I learned a lot from him every time we played each other. I know I'm about to run into a big challenge, so I don't feel like the favorite and I'll definitely be a little more nervous than usual. Everyone knew the scoreboard and everyone wanted to see this semi-final: me too!" he explained.
