Jack Draper finally won win a title, after a battle of over two against Matteo Berrettini, in Stuttgart. The Briton, after two finals lost respectively in Sofia in 2023 and this year in Adelaide, got his first career title on the ATP Tour. A great satisfaction for the Briton, who showed off a solid performance and was able to surprise the opponent in the most important moments of the match, despite having lost the first set. Draper is also the fourth player to beat the Italian in an official grass-court match since 2020, after Novak Djokovic, Lorenzo Sonego and Carlos Alcaraz.

At the on-court interview, Draper praised his rival's performance before thanking his team for helping him win his first career title.

"I would like to thank my team over there. My fitness trainer who is at home, there has been so much hard work in this. So many ups and downs. Many difficult moments. But it's times like these that we have to embrace it, take a day off and then playing again on Monday, it means the world," he explained.

Draper then praised Berrettini: "What an amazing final. Congratulations on a fantastic week. I was watching your results before we played on grass today. Winning 2 at Queens. Final at Wimbledon. 2 titles here. It looked like a really tough match. This it just shows what an incredible player you are. I know you've had your injuries like me. This sport is brutal when you're on your own and you have to work things out and get back to your best form. Congratulations and I know , you're going to have a great year."

Berrettini analyzed the defeat, in the same on-court interview, congratulating his rival but explaining that he felt a little disappointed by the defeat.

"Congratulations to Jack, it was a fantastic week and match. This defeat will hurt me for a while, I've won and lost matches like this. Jack I'm sure you will win more trophies. But now I'm a little sad. I thank my team, we know what we went through, a lot of ups and downs. I would like to show you what happens behind the scenes, thank you for accompanying me on my return. For the audience at home, I'm sorry you lost but thanks for the support - you are the best. To the Stuttgart crowd, every year there are more and more of you: I thank you," he told.

Berrettini, however, thanks to the final reached, will recover 30 positions in the ATP ranking, climbing up to 65th position.
And given his condition, with the next matches awaiting him on grass, the ranking can only improve.
