Daniil Medvedev wants to be a protagonist of the 2024 edition of Wimbledon, after the semi-final won last year. The Russian has left another set on the road but has defeated a tough opponent on the grass as Jan-Lennard Struff and can prepare for the next challenge with Grigor Dimitrov.

Among the ambitions of the Moscow player, there is of course to triumph in the prestigious London. But, as explained in the press conference after the last victory, the English competition would seem the most complicated Slam to win: "A tournament that, unlike the US Open, seems to be won by the same.

Why? I have no idea why the Us Open is more open than Wimbledon. It is true that in Flushing Meadows, even at the time of the Big Three, Marin Cilic won, and so did Stan Wawrinka, twice. There is no explanation there," he said in front of the media.

Daniil Medvedev is always interesting

Daniil Medvedev showed progress on grass at Wimbledon, where he reached the semi-final last year. A very interesting reflection was highlighted by the 28-year-old, who continued his thesis: "On the grass Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have won most of the titles and both play with very different styles, but perfect for this type of court.

They feel the game well and it is complicated to tear them the title". Then he focused on the incredible success of 2023 at Alcaraz and what could happen at the end of this week: "Last year Carlos had to work very hard.

Let’s see what happens this year, maybe we’ll have a new winner and we can talk about it," he concluded. And the reference of Medvedev could be just turned to Jannik Sinner, the first seed and the current number one in the world.

In the list of favorites for the victory, Medvedev is behind Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
