Donna Vekic reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the first time, beating Paula Badosa after an exciting match. The Spaniard was nevertheless the protagonist of an excellent tournament, which bodes well for the rest of her career. The Croatian beat her opponent after three exciting sets, closing the challenge with the final score of 6-2 1-6 6-4, and she will now face the surprising New Zealand tennis player Lulu Sun in the quarterfinals, who defeated Emma Raducanu in three sets.

Vekic, in the on-court interview, analyzed the challenge and expressed all his joy at having reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, his favorite tournament, revealing that his dream is always to win a Major, even though a series of favorable circumstances must combine to achieve it.

"To win a Grand Slam, a lot of things have to happen, I hope it will happen for me one day. It's been my dream since I started playing tennis. A dream and a goal to win a Grand Slam. It's the reason why I play tennis. Why I continue to train and work hard every day. Do I believe in it? Yes. Of course I do. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. But to win a Grand Slam, a lot of things have to happen. I hope it will happen for me one day. It's been a long day.

I'm really happy to have won, to have finished. To be in the last 8 of my favorite tournament is really special. I was training in London, so I'm a little bit used to the weather. I apologized to my team during the breaks. Sometimes I was a little bit messed up! In the end we did it," she explained.
