"It was a long day of waiting. I'm happy to have finished the match before the possible interruption for darkness. We played in strange conditions. In the second set you couldn't see much in one part of the court. I arrived around 09:15 in the morning, spent a lot of time here. Then it started to rain before we went out on the court to warm up."

With these words shared at the press conference, the American Tommy Paul talked about the match won against Roberto Bautista Agut in the 4th round at Wimbledon. Now, one of the most interesting quarterfinals of the Champpionships sees Carlitos Alcaraz face Paul. The American has shown on more than one occasion that he has the tennis to make things difficult for the Spaniard and the two tennis players are perfectly even, in the head-to-head. Two victories for Alcaraz, two for Paul: the American managed to surprise him on both occasions in Canada in the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 event that is held one year in Montreal and one year in Toronto. The Wimbledon semi-finals will be up for grabs on Court 1 of the All England Club.

At the press conference, Paul analyzed the challenge that will see him oppose the young Spaniard, underlining how he really enjoys playing against Carlitos.

"The serve is always the most important shot in men's tennis. I will have to serve very well in my next match, but the return will also be important. We both have an aggressive style of play, he is extremely aggressive. He entertains the crowd and it is a lot of fun to play against him if I have to be honest."

Finally, Paul expressed a comment on last year's final that saw Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in the fifth set at The Championships.

"Really exciting match. Alcaraz played unbelievably and took the title. It was exciting to watch, I had no idea who was going to win before the match. We often think that Djokovic will win the match when he comes on the court, but in that case I had doubts," he said.
