Murray versus Murray: Andy Excited To Go Up Against Brother Jamie- View: 1751 by Ammad Raja
As the pairing of Andy Murray and Leander Paes got past the duo of Kevin Anderson and Jeremy Chardy, 6-3 6-1, the win ensured that both the Murray brothers will be going up against each for the first time on tour.
The 7th seeds, Paes and Andy will face off against Jamie Murray and John Peers in the second round of the doubles event at the Rogers Cup. And going up against his elder brother has gotten the Andy pretty excited as he spoke to the media.
"We've obviously played a lot against each other in juniors, in a lot of local competitions or competitions around Great Britain, but yeah we haven’t played each other for a very long time. So it’ll be nice in some ways to do that but also it’s not easy.
Serena and Venus (Williams) have obviously done it playing for Grand Slams and stuff and I can’t imagine how difficult that is." The two brothers took to court together only recently as they helped Great Britain get past France in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup but this time, they will be at opposite ends of the net.
While the World No 3 has this to look ahead to, Murray also has a singles second round match against Tommy Robredo lined up. Also Read: Agnieszka Radwanska: Serena Williams favourite to win US Open
