Croatia's Davis Cup team captain Zeljko Krajan admits his team is notyet aware of the big accomplishment reached in this year's Davis Cup. Croatia managed to reach a surprising final after beating France last week with a 3-2 victory.
According to Krajan, Croatia has already accomplished a historical result -- even if they lose the final. But, they are keen to make it all the way no matter what. Throughout the tie, a big help from the Croatian crowd played a crucial role.
Krajan revealed that his side needed a big help from the crowd -- that's the reason why Zadar was picked. The 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic had to play three rubbers for his country -- he won two singles matches, and one doubles.
Those three wins were enough for hise side to get past France. Of course, handling three matches over the course of three days isn't an easy thing to do. However, no problems for Cilic, as the crowd was there to help him.
The 37-year-old also added that his team deserved to be in the Davis Cup final. Croatia and Argentina are set to meet on November 25-27 in the final. Croatia will be the host. Source: Revija Tenis, Photo--Dino Stanin/PIXSELL Also read: Yannick Noah praises Marin Cilic: 'He is a champion'
