Marat Safin was one of the hottest players on the ATP Tour. The former Russian tennis player is not known only for his on-court successes but also for his crazy behaviour. However for Safin, who is playing the IPTL this week, the most important thing was to show his emotions. ´I went a little too extreme, but it was me,´ Safin told The Straits Times.
´There was no anger and it wasn´t against anybody. For me, it was self-expression.´ At the same time, Safin admitted that having good people around him was fundamental. ´With time, you learn it´s very important who is around you.
(Your) team has to tell you the truth even if it´s ugly give you opportunity to continue your journey.´ What he said about his 2005 Australian Open title is very interesting. He wanted to prove that the triumph in New York wasn´t a one-off.´It was more of a relief that I won a second Grand Slam.
