Jelena Dokic, who will comeback to the tennis world as Fox Sports commentator at the upcoming Australian Open, made a preview for the Australian TV ahead of the first Grand Slam of the season. Dokic is very confident on Serena Williams not only for this season but also for the long time.
'She’s always the favourite for me,' Dokic said about Serena, who won in Wimbledon last year and lost finals in Melbourne and at Roland Garros. 'She’s a 22-time Grand Slam winner. She’s 35 but I feel she can play until she’s 40.
She’s incredible. She’s got an unbelievable game. She’s got a big game. She wins a lot of free points. And I think she can still continue winning Grand Slams.' She also spoke about the two favourites in the men's draw, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, who have already played against each other once this year, in the Doha final.
'Andy has lost four in a row to Novak here. I think you could still at times he was better and could win but it was the mental thing. He can definitely beat Novak, it’s just sometimes a case of not being confident enough and not believing he can do it.
So I would still give the edge to Novak, even though Murray is no. 1 in the world. And I would love to see an Andy-Novak final.' ALSO READ: Serena Williams shares picture of the ring in the night of her engangement
