French tennis player Benoit Paire is not interested in backing down to Swiss Stan Wawrinka when they meet at the Madrid Masters. The Frenchman surprised Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta in the first-round of Madrid to set up a second-round clash with the Swiss.
Paire, 28, will be clashing off against Wawrinka for the 10th time in his career. He hasn't had much success against his good friend so far in his career, beating him twice and losing seven times. The match between Paire and Wawrinka has been scheduled to be held as the last match of today's schedule.
The number three seed from Switzerland is coming off a first-round bye. ''I have a good shot against Stan,'' Paire said, reveals Tennis Actu. ''I know him well, we often train together, so I know his style of play. ''I will have to come out confident on the court.'' It remains to be seen whether the French can stun Wawrinka and reach the last-16 stage.
